In Financial Year 2007 Lufthansa CityLine again made an important contribution to the activities of the Lufthansa business segment Passenger Transportation. In 2007, Lufthansa CityLine carried 7.3 million passengers, which corresponds to about 13 percent of all Lufthansa passengers. Our company also carried out about 24 percent of all flights operated last year with Lufthansa aircraft. With a technical regularity of 98.7 percent, Lufthansa CityLine achieved the goal Lufthansa Passenger Transportation had set for 2007.
With nearly a 50 percent share of all CityLine flights, the Lufthansa hub in Munich continued to be the backbone of our operations in 2007. To secure our future development options there, we signed a contract with the airport operators, Flughafen München GmbH (FMG), in September to lease a new maintenance hangar for our technical operations. As early as in December, we had succesfully completed all aspects of the move and started up production in Hall 4. With a surface of 12,000 square metres, the new hangar offers space for ten Bombardier CRJs or AVRO RJ85s.
